What materials are the CD cases manufactured from?
Our CD cases are only manufactured from high quality clarified polypropylene.
What is polypropylene?
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer that is typically used for injection molded products and blow molded products. Packaging containers and products manufactured at Lacontainer Inc. are all plastic injection molded.
What is plastic injection molding?
Plastic injection molding is the process by which you melt a plastic polymer and inject the molten plastic material into a cavity mold using high pressure to create a part or product once the plastic cools or sets. Plastic injection molds are typically made from steel or aluminum. Steel molds are of a higher quality and allow for longer production runs because of thier durability, while aluminum molds are usually for prototype production runs or lower quantity manufacturing runs.
Can you screen print my company logo on Discons CD cases?
Lacontainer does offer CD case decoration however the only process we use in-house is hot-stamping. We do not offer full color printing on our CD cases but we can apply full color labels. Please contact one of our customer service representatives for pricing and minimum quantity requirements.
What is Hot-Stamping?
Hot-Stamping is the process of decorating a manufactured product by stamping a metallic or non-metallic foil onto the product with a heated metal plate that contains the raised design or logo to be imprinted. In most cases the result is a clean foil logo imprinted on the manufactured item. The hot-stamping process typically works on wood, vinyl, paper, card stock, card board, hard plastics, and soft plastics like polypropylene or polyethylene.
Can I get a hot stamped sample shipped to me before production if it is critical prior to production?
Yes, at an additional cost we can FedEx a production sample to your door prior to production if it is critical that you get approval prior to production. We can also scan or photograph a production sample and e-mail you the image for your approval.

Are these CD cases biodegradable?
No, our in stock CD cases are not considered biodegradable but they are easily recyclable since they are manufactured from polypropylene. However, many of our products can be manufactured with additives that would allow them to be biodegradable. If you are interested please contact us regarding pricing, production times, and minimum quantity requirements for biodegradable packaging.
Can I order CD cases in custom colors?
Yes, custom colors are available to manufacture CD cases if minimum quantity requirements are met. Please contact a customer service representative for information on the costs for color matching, minimum quantity requirements, and production times on custom color runs.
When will my CD case order ship?
CD case orders will typically ship on the following business day unless you are told otherwise via e-mail. Once your order ships you will receive a ship confirmation along with a tracking number.
Where will my CD cases be shipped from?
All of our products at Lacontainer Inc. are manufactured and will be shipped from our Yorba Linda, California plastic products manufacturing facility.
Are the CD cases easy to use with automated packaging equipment?
Yes, our CD cases are shipped closed and our living hinge design make it an ideal CD packaging solution for automated closure after duplicated CDs or CD blanks are inserted.
What type of quality system does Lacontainer manufacture CD cases under?
We are ISO 9002 compliant with complete lot traceability and certificates available upon request.
What is the temperature rating of Discons CD cases?
Temp rating of CD cases is up to 212 F. (molded at 360+ F)
The low end of the temp rating is 40 F and lower
(may crack easier as temp decreases dependent on impact ).
I am a reseller and would like a resale account set-up online, is that possible to do on the CD case shopping site online?
Yes, set up your account first without placing an order and contact our sales dept via e-mail with your reseller permit name and company name. Once we have verified your permit we will set your account to resale (non taxable). It's that easy!
